What does Symphy mean?
First off people often wonder what Symphy means. Symphy is a combination of two words: 1) Symphony and Symphysis.
Symphy was inspired by the desire to, like a symphony, combine the various instruments of communicating and learning online in a way that is new and communicative of beauty, goodness and truth..
We seek for our work to be aesthetically beautiful, that means putting an emphasis on design and the user interface in a way that attracts people to the use of our systems. It means balancing functionality with design in a way that doesn’t overwhelm the senses and helps the user or learner focus on what is being communicated.
We seek for our work to be good, i.e. we seek solutions that are based in the best and most current web applications and code out there. We also seek for our work to be good in the sense that it is more effective and comprehensive than other solutions out there.
We seek for the experience of those we work with to be guided and oriented by truth. We are committed to truth and honesty, we seek to be just. Our mission is limited to support those institutions for whom we can identify in their mission a commitment to truth, justice, and integrity.
We develop relationships that are based in mutual trust and respect. We are committed to never adopt practices as a company that undermine justice and the ethical dimension of work and trade. We won’t annoy you for your business or talk you into choosing to work with us. We want our work to speak for itself.
Our work is like symphysis in that it is meant to take the vision and need of those who seek our assistance and combine it with our vision, experience, and training to create a solid fusion: the two become one.
That is how we came up with the name Symphy. There is a lot of meaning behind that little word.
